The Patriot Post® · American Flag Shirts Banned
Students at Oak High School in Morgan Hill, California, are once again barred from expressing their First Amendment rights during Cinco De Mayo. The school first banned students from wearing American flag t-shirts in 2010 to prevent offending Mexican students, a decision that was ultimately upheld in February by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. As The Daily Caller notes, the judges in effect found “that the school was legally permitted to abridge white students’ free speech rights in service of Latino students’ feelings.” Or, put another way, Americans’ inalienable rights are obsolete when PC police say so.
