On the heels of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s comments about there being “no obvious peace dividend” from Iraq and Afghanistan comes an update from another Barack Obama foreign policy blunder. U.S. intelligence reports that al-Qaida is flocking to post-Gadhafi Libya because it’s now a lawless safe haven for terrorists. So many notorious jihadis are pouring in that one military contractor called it “Scumbag Woodstock.” (Then again, that doesn’t really differentiate it from the original.) Another official said, “Libya today plays host to members and associates of several AQ-allied groups, in some ways becoming a jihadist melting pot,” calling their “intermittent cooperation … worrisome.” For that, we can thank Obama’s exercise of “smart power” in ousting Moammar Gadhafi.
