The House Veterans Affairs Committee voted Thursday to subpoena Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki over the reported wait-time scandals at VA hospitals. The problems first came to light in Phoenix, where 40 veterans died waiting for service while the VA hospital there tried to cover its tracks. All it took was a subpoena, but Shinseki has ordered a “face-to-face audit” at every VA clinic nationwide. His congressional testimony should be enlightening.
