MSNBC Chris Matthews offered some erudite analysis of the American experiment, saying, “It took 22 months of men debating in this room to achieve the Declaration of Independence. Progressive change takes time.” He added, “Liberalism always wins eventually, just as it did here in Philadelphia, in the sweltering summer of 1776.” It’s unbelievably asinine that Matthews thinks what our Founders did was “progressive” or “liberalism” – at least not based on the modern meanings of those words. Our Founders gave us Rule of Law to secure Liberty, and “progressives” incessantly seek to undo that.
