The CNA Corporation, a research and analysis organization that helps lawmakers craft policy, released another study on the security threats of global warming. In its 2007 report, CNA described warming as a “threat multiplier.” Its 2014 report takes a cue from John Kerry’s recent alarmism about climate change being “another weapon of mass destruction,” saying it’s a “catalyst for conflict,” with people potentially fighting over dwindling resources. The report, which includes maps of previously iced-over trade routes and military bases underwater, urges the U.S. to do what it’s always done: “take global leadership” and press on in its fight against global warming. Whatever the truth is on global warming, we suppose there’s no harm in creating a security plan. If our military has contingency plans for zombie outbreaks, they might as well have a plan for the leftist apocalypse. More…
