Indiana Republican Gov. Mike Pence is positioning himself for a run on the White House in 2016. The governor recently announced an alternative to ObamaCare for his state, which is to expand Medicaid via the Healthy Indiana Plan. Robert Blendon, a professor at Harvard University who teaches health policy and political analysis, said, “If you’re a presidential candidate, the camera goes on and the question is, ‘What would you put there instead of ObamaCare?’ Every Republican candidate is going to have to answer that.” This is evidently Pence’s answer. It’s not a perfect plan – in fact, expanding Medicaid is not a good one – but we suppose at least Pence will have an answer should he choose to run. More…
