Former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is busy with his book tour, reflecting on his days in the Obama administration. Speaking about the economy in general, Geithner mused that many problems still boil down to racism and class warfare. “How well you do in life today, how good your education is, how good your health care is, depends too much on the color of your skin and how rich your parent is. And that’s something that should worry all Americans,” he said. It’s certainly true that race and wealth have much to do with how Democrats frame the issues, but their warnings have long since had a distinct boy-who-cried-wolf feel to them.
