With a 144-0 vote, the Connecticut legislature passed the bill “Concerning Minor Revision to the Educational Statues” on the last day of its General Assembly session, but little did the lawmakers know with the unanimous vote they banned chocolate milk from the state’s public schools. Whoops. Now, the Nutmeg State’s Governor Dannel Malloy said he does not support the chocolate milk ban and suggests he may veto the whole education bill. Ctnewsjunkie.com reports, “Rep. Timothy Ackert, the ranking Republican on the Education Committee, said they were told by legislative attorneys that they had to adopt the provision based on the federal Hunger-Free Kids Act.
