During a House hearing on the threat from the terrorist group Boko Haram, Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) asked State Department undersecretary Sarah Sewall whether Boko Haram specifically targets Christians. Sewall replied, “I wish there was such discrimination in Boko Haram attacks.” She continued, “Boko Haram attacks everyone who is Nigerian. Boko Haram is an equal-opportunity threat for all Nigerian citizens.” Her reply is unbelievably callous, but it reflects the lack of seriousness coming from the Obama State Department. They consider Twitter hashtags to be a suitable response to terrorism (well, at least until 80 soldiers were sent in to find hundreds of missing girls), so why wouldn’t they casually brush aside the targeting of Christians?
