Imagine you are Democrat politician about to head for the big leagues – Washington. But before you throw your hat into the ring for your state’s primaries you get a call from none other than the White House. Would you like a non-elected position in Washington? Maybe a taxpayer-funded job? One thing, though: don’t go through with the primary. It’d only be divisive. What do you make of this? Typical Washington-style politics? Maneuvering from the like of House of Cards character Frank Underwood? According to watchdog group Judicial Watch, it’s a violation of the Hatch Act for an employee to use his position to sway an election. According to the Washington Free Beacon, it’s investigating the Obama administration for violating the act, once in 2009 and again in 2010.
