On the eve of the EPA releasing its new environmental regulations, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released a study saying tough regulations to curb greenhouse gas – the kind Obama wants – will cost the economy about $50 billion a year. Karen Harbert, president of the chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy said, “Our analysis shows that Americans will pay significantly more for electricity, see slower economic growth and fewer jobs, and have less disposable income, while a slight reduction in carbon emissions will be overwhelmed by global increases.” When it comes to hot air about climate change, we wanted to make a flatulence joke, but these regulations just stink.
