The wave upon wave of children crossing the Mexican-U.S. border will be treated as a humanitarian crisis. About 60,000 youths from Central America are expected to make the journey into the states. That number is expected to jump to 130,000 in 2015, the Daily Caller reports. Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) said in a June 2 statement, “The recent surge of children and teenagers from Central America showing up at our Southern border is an Administration-made disaster. Word has gotten out around the world about President Obama’s lax immigration enforcement policies and it has encouraged more individuals to come to the United States illegally. … Enforcement at the border and in the interior of the U.S. is crucial to end these kinds of situations, not another bureaucratic task force.” U.S. military facilities will be converted and to deal with the influx, a visual reminder this administration is courting aliens instead of promoting national security.
