Harry Reid’s mission in life in 2014 is to demonize two private citizens who give money to conservative causes. The Koch brothers have become an obsession for him. Tuesday, he testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, “I am here because the flood of dark money into our nation’s political system poses the greatest threat to our democracy that I have witnessed during my tenure in public service.” His goal is a constitutional amendment to restrict political speech for those with “too much” money. “The decisions by the Supreme Court have left the American people with a status quo in which one side’s billionaires are pitted against the other side’s billionaires,” he complained. Except leftist billionaires are just fine in his book. Reid’s real goal is to silence the opposition – and that threatens democracy.
