The Obama administration’s contempt for the U.S. military and our national security may be even greater than we thought. According to Time magazine, the Taliban-for-deserter swap “was an ultimate victory for those at the White House and the State Department who had previously argued the military should ‘suck it up and salute,’ says the official familiar with the debate.” Secretary of State John Kerry seemed to think veterans should do the same thing when he ran for president in 2004 as a Vietnam War “hero,” despite his slandering of our troops in 1971. He might as well have said in 2004, “Suck it up and salute.” No wonder his department is showing such contempt now – they learned it from a pro. More…
