Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) says that we shouldn’t worry about the cost of trading five Taliban terrorists for Bowe Bergdahl because, well, they’re not terrorists … or something. “The Taliban is part of the fabric of Afghanistan,” she argued, and therefore “to say that they are terrorists, at this point, is not necessarily accurate.” The reason we went into Afghanistan is that it was a terrorist-run state, so to say that because they’re “part of the fabric” does not negate the fact that they’re terrorists.
