Let’s not forget what the jihadi invasion of Iraq will mean for the country itself. The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant left a path of crucifixions and beheadings in their wake – with promises of more to come. In the province of Nineveh, the ISIL distributed 16 rules, which include the implementation of Sharia law, the crucifixion of thieves and a call for repentance from the police and military that dared raise arms against the ISIL. Alcohol and tobacco are banned. Women must stay indoors. Iraq was once home to one of the world’s oldest Christian communities, but now, their numbers have dwindled.
