Despite the ridiculousness of the assertion, Hillary and Bill Clinton still insist they left the Oval Office “dead broke.” Perhaps the former first lady can offer further explanation for this claim when she addresses a group of college students this fall for nearly a quarter of a million dollars. The Weekly Standard reports, “Hillary Clinton will be getting $225,000 to speak at a university fundraiser later this year. Students at the same school, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, have recently been outraged that the institution is raising tuition by a staggering 17 percent.” Unlike Ms. Clinton, who went on to make a healthy salary as a senator and secretary of state post-White House, the majority of students are poor relatively speaking. Worse, most will graduate with substantial debt only to discover mediocre job opportunities – that is, if they can find a job – thanks to Obamanomics.
