It was a violent weekend in both Chicago and New York City. CBS Chicago reports, “One person was killed and at least 35 others were wounded in weekend shootings across the city.” And according to NBC New York, “Four people were killed and another 19 were injured in a wave of shootings over the weekend that touched all five of New York City’s boroughs.” Notably, both cities are heavily controlled by Democrats who believe the prescription is more statism. Rather than addressing the culprit – cultural rot aided by progressive idealism – this growing epidemic among the Left’s urban poverty plantations is blamed on things like “lax” gun control laws and global warming. Both cities already have some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. The fix is not more legislation; it’s a return to faith and family values.
