The Patriot Post® · HHS Doesn't Verify
The Department of Health and Human Services doesn’t bother with something so mundane as actually verifying the legal status of immigrant families with which it is placing unaccompanied children. HHS official Mark Greenberg says they prioritize finding the “least restrictive setting in the child’s best interest,” which doesn’t, apparently, include legal status. Greenberg insists DHS makes families aware of their responsibility to bring children to any proceedings or hearings, but, as Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) noted, if the family is illegal too, the exposure risk “markedly diminishes” any likelihood the children will come for their own hearings. It’s all part of the plan.
