Connecticut is still learning first hand the implications of defying the constitutional right to bear arms with the passage of strict gun control measures last year. Mossberg & Sons, Inc., headquartered in North Haven, is the latest firearms manufacturer to announce it will take jobs and tax revenue elsewhere. Their pick? Why Texas, of course. “Investing in Texas was an easy decision,” says CEO Iver Mossberg. “It’s a state that is not only committed to economic growth but also honors and respects the Second Amendment and the firearm freedoms it guarantees for our customers.” Forbes’ Frank Miniter reports, “More than 90 percent of Mossberg’s guns are now made in Texas. Some of its Connecticut jobs are going there, too.” Unfortunately, this does little to deter Connecticut’s anti-gun leadership. Voters will need to address that issue. Meanwhile, we applaud Mossberg for taking action. They’re also always welcome in the great state of Tennessee. More…
