White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Monday that many illegal alien minors will “likely” stay in the U.S. if it’s determined “they face a credible threat of death upon their return to their home country.” Since the administration is so intent upon them staying, a new petition on the White House website demands that illegal minors be allowed to live at the White House. Even Democrats aren’t pleased with the bad immigration news because it’s not helping their case for “comprehensive” reform. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) has teamed up with Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) to introduce legislation to accelerate immigration court hearings for minors in order to allow for deportation within 10 days. True, this is a political calculation for Cuellar to show Democrats are confronting the issue, but it’s progress.
