The Obama administration is expanding sanctions against Russia after the recent spike in violence in Ukraine. According to The Washington Post, with its toughest sanctions yet the administration is “targeting major banks and energy companies, a significant swath of the Russian defense industry, and individuals it said were responsible for the continuing support of separatists battling government forces in eastern Ukraine.” The administration is also banning importation of Saiga rifles and shotguns. It’s a win-win – Obama can appear tough on Russia and ban some guns at the same time. More…
