If Christopher Thomas decides to rob anyone in the future, he might want to specify what he wants from his victim. At 2 a.m. on July 22, Thomas, along with David Calhoun, fired a handgun through the door of a Pittsburgh apartment. Once inside, they shoved the 19-year-old resident and his 17-year-old girlfriend into the bedroom, demanding “his stuff.” The 19-year-old obliged, firing “his stuff” at the intruders at about 1,200 feet-per-second through a shotgun barrel. Calhoun died in the apartment, and Thomas collapsed outside with a wound to the abdomen. Pittsburgh Police charged him with aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, conspiracy, carrying a firearm without a license, oh, and he was wanted for rape. Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson Sonya Toler said the police probably will not charge the resident for shooting the home invaders. “He was within his rights to have a shotgun in his residence,” Toler said.
