Michelle Nunn, a Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Georgia, just gave America one of the best documents explaining elections that anyone could ask for: Her campaign strategy. The 144-page document covers most everything – how she would research dirt on her opponents, how she was molding her message to different audiences, how to handle the press. Reading this document leaked to National Review could very well teach more about American campaigning than observing four years of elections. For example, Nunn’s memo goes through several demographics and their use to the campaign. Nunn planned to use blacks and Latinos for their votes, and she targeted Jews, homosexuals, Asian-Americans and CEOs for their money. Nunn’s campaign manager Jeff DiSantis told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “This was a draft of a document that was written eight months ago.” But it lays her weaknesses bare: She served as the CEO of an organization that – in the words of the memo – gave money to “inmates” and “terrorists.” More…
