Barack Obama is evidently in need of some remedial history. In an official statement celebrating Eid-al-Fitr, a Muslim holiday, Obama said, “Eid also reminds us of the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.” We don’t recall Islam playing a significant part in the founding of our republic (it’s not a democracy), and given that the majority of mosques in this country have been established within the last generation, his comments about “fabric of our nation” are a bit of a stretch. Obama’s all-inclusive drivel is almost entirely fact free.
