The Patriot Post® · Fired White Teacher Wins Racial Discrimination Suit

A teacher won a racial discrimination lawsuit, but this time, the shoe is on the other foot. The Washington Post reports, “A former Prince George’s County teacher won a $350,000 jury award after accusing the school system of discriminating against him because he is white. Jon Everhart alleged in his lawsuit against the Prince George’s County school board that a black principal forced him out of his job because of his race.” Principal Angelique Simpson-Marcus denies the allegations, insisting, “I never said any of those things. I don’t use that kind of language.” But Everhart wasn’t the only one to allege discrimination, either. And for him to convince a jury of it must mean something. As Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in another case, “The way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.” More…
