The Patriot Post® · Leftist Policies Draw Opposition From Non-Leftists — Who Knew?
Propose “fundamentally transforming the United States of America” and then express shock and dismay when some people oppose that effort. That’s Barack Obama’s strategy, as he once again hammered Republicans for their opposition to his leftist agenda. “Republicans in Congress love to say ‘no,’” Obama complained. He went on, “I want an economy where your hard work pays off with higher wages, and higher income and fair pay for women, and workplace flexibility for parents, and affordable health insurance and decent retirement benefits. I’m not asking for the moon, I just want a good deal for Americans. Most of the policies I’m talking about have two things in common: They’re going to help more working families get ahead, and the Republicans who run our Congress oppose almost all of them.” Republicans oppose – rightly so – expanding government involvement in all of those areas, not the ends of higher income, affordable insurance and a good retirement. In fact, the government obstructs those things when it gets involves. And to that, it’s worth saying “no.”
