Breitbart reports, “Abdirahmaan Muhumed, the second known American killed while fighting for ISIS in Syria, previously worked for Delta Global Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.” They further note, “Muhumed’s position with Delta Global Services required a security clearance at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in order gain access to the tarmac and unfettered access to planes.” This revelation is absolutely startling. Not only was an American able to join the most horrific terrorist group in the world, but the jihadi had direct access to planes in U.S. airspace. Compare this with yesterday’s report from DHS, which concedes the whereabouts of more than 6,000 foreign students are unknown. According to ABC News, that “security gap … was supposed to be fixed after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks” because “the hijacker who flew Flight 77 into the Pentagon, Hani Hanjour, had entered the U.S. on a student visa but never showed up for school.” What if Muhumed had teamed up with foreign militants here in the states? The fact that post-9/11 militant extremists are still able to come and go as they please raises serious national security concerns. We clearly have more work to do if we are to prevent another catastrophic terrorist attack. More…
