While Conflicts Escalate, Kerry Is Focused on Global Warming

The ensuing conflicts in Europe, Africa and the Middle East should be the focus of America’s leaders, but Secretary of State John Kerry still thinks the most important thing to do right now is continue his crusade against global warming. During his latest diatribe in Texas, Kerry implied that failing to address the perceived crisis is antithetical to Christian principles: “For many of us, respect for God’s creation also translates into a duty to protect and sustain his first creation: Earth. The planet. Before God created man, he created heavens and earth. Confronting climate change is in the long run one of the greatest challenges that we face. And you can see this duty or responsibility laid out in scriptures.” On the one hand, he’s right: We are commanded to steward God’s creation. However, climate change has existed since the beginning of time, even without human-burned fossil fuels. To suggest we are suddenly ruining earth by using its God-given resources is simply absurd. Meanwhile, Matthew 7:15 teaches, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” More…
