The Patriot Post® · Durbin: 'Immigration Reform Might Have Made Ebola Problem Less Severe'
Sen. Richard Durbin’s (D-IL) said at a hearing on the Ebola crisis that the disease wouldn’t be so bad if only those Republicans in the House would have passed the Left’s comprehensive immigration reform. “We included in the immigration reform bill, which passed the United States Senate, a provision which provided, in one respect, if you are medically trained in Africa and promise to serve in Africa for a period of time before going anywhere else, we would honor that and respect that and not allow people to be recruited into the United States if they still had an obligation to their country,” Durbin derped. This politi-speak is barely logical, but here’s what we think he means: The Ebola crisis would be less severe because we would have made African doctors stay in those countries and work against their will on a highly contagious, highly fatal disease because of “obligation to country,” comrade. Of course, this bill would work because its not like African doctors could immigrate anywhere else in the world. And with this comment, Durbin shows another reason why the House was wise not to pass the legislation. More…
