Fighting has quieted between Israel and Hamas of late, leaving the latter to pick up the pieces of its own aggression. “Hamas has yet to name replacements for key commanders killed in the Gaza war last month, but it has had a lot of other things on its mind,” The Washington Free Beacon reports. “Hamas is having a difficult time dealing with the more than 2,100 Gazans dead – at least half of them non-combatants – 11,000 wounded, and 100,000 homeless citizens.” Furthermore, the Beacon notes, “With virtually none of Hamas’ demands thus far met, the organization has yet to justify the painful war to Gaza’s shell-shocked residents.” Perhaps they should have thought of that before launching an assault on Israel and then rejecting cease-fire after cease-fire.
