In the DHS’s game of immigrant catch and release, 70% of the immigrants traveling in family groups never appear for their immigration hearings, with part of the problem being the lack of detention facilities in the nation. Of the 860 people who traveled as a family slated for deportation since May, only 14 showed up to be shipped away.
