A stale White House has some Democrats calling for more Hope & Change™. According to one person described by The Hill as a “prominent party strategist,” it’s well past time for the president to “take a flamethrower to his office.” The anonymous Democrat elaborated, “He [Obama] needs dramatic change – it’s not even a debatable point. The general consensus [is] that the president is surrounded by people who do him more harm than good because they are more focused on pleasing him than they are challenging him or proposing a different course.” To be clear, Obama will never altar his course. Just consider the number of times he’s outright disregarded his council’s advice, most clearly illustrated in foreign policy. Obama wants to bring America’s stature down a few notches, and even assuming some White House officials want a different course, they no doubt have learned not to interfere with imperialist rule.
