The Nuclear Regulatory Commission released a report finding Yucca Mountain a safe place to store the nation’s spent nuclear waste. Barack Obama and Harry Reid closed Yucca Mountain in an obstructionist move because of seemingly being afraid of creating Godzilla with nuclear waste. Currently, the nation’s spent nuclear waste is dispersed around the fruited plain – like that is the best strategy for securing it. Now, this report shows closing Yucca was not based on science, but politics. In response, Republican senators are calling for a vote to continue the Yucca Mountain project.
