Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO), who is currently in a tough re-election fight, was stumped by a softball question from Denver’s ABC affiliate. News anchor Marc Stewart asked Udall to “name three of the most influential books in your life.” Udall repeated the question before offering “Profiles in Courage,” and then stalling. “Let me think. We can play this over, right? Let me re-tape this.” Oops. Ok, well, then, “What’s the last song you listened to?” You won’t get a much easier layup than that, but Udall was still stumped. “I’m brain dead today,” he conceded. No, he’s brain dead every day.
