Sen. Pat Leahy (D-VT) implied that a large percentage of the country is racist and we may never again see a black president. “Well I was and am a strong supporter of Barack Obama, he’s one of 44 presidents – 43 white, one African-American,” Leahy said. “We’ve got to do more about that. But I also know that it is not just the president, it is the legislatures, the governors, the members of Congress. Because there are those who never want to have another African-American president, and that would be another very, very bad thing for this country.” Sure there are people who oppose Obama because he’s black – such as members of the National Socialist Movement (neo-Nazis). But Ben Carson has been pretty popular in the conservative ranks, and his strength of character is better than Obama’s. The real issue is Obama’s ideology, not his skin color. More…
