Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK) turned every which way to distance himself from Obama and his policies. When talking to the Washington Examiner, Begich said he voted for Obama in both elections. “I did, but that’s irrelevant. The president’s not relevant. He’s gone in two years.” But two years is still enough time to leave a legacy, and Begich’s voting record shows he supported the president about 90% of the time. Begich continued, saying if his Republican opponent brought Obama’s policies up in debate, the incumbent senator would tell his challenger, “You’re living in the past, and it can’t be all about national issues.
