“Plantation mentality” – that’s how Ohio state Rep. John Barnes, Democrat, describes his party. Tired of the Ohio Democrat Party allegedly bullying him into joining the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus, Barnes filed a defamation lawsuit against his own party alleging the Democrats campaigned against him and made false statements during the primaries because he opted not to join the caucus. He did, however, win his re-election bid. “Black people need a voice,” he said at a press conference. “But they need that voice to be independent, they need that voice to speak to the issues that affect their community, they need a voice that is going to identify them not whether or not there is ignominious peace but whether or not it is the right thing to do so that ultimately we can all come together and work together as a state.” More…
