The Patriot Post® · Mary Landrieu Falling Behind in Runoff Race

Try as hard as she can to distance herself from the Democrat party and the Left, Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) still trails her Republican challenger during this runoff election in Louisiana. According to a survey conducted by Republican candidate Bill Cassidy’s campaign, Cassidy leads Landrieu by 16 points. Looking at the breakdown, it seems that all the voters who initially picked Tea Party candidate Rob Maness switched their support to Cassidy, as Maness himself did. Landrieu has tried to leverage her power in the Senate to demonstrate to voters she’s different from all the other leftist politicians by voting against Harry Reid when he was up for re-election in Democrat leadership. Then she started the Senate talking about approving the Keystone XL pipeline – a project stonewalled by the Left until Landrieu realized the project would benefit the state she claims to represent. The moves smack of political desperation. Landrieu is falling behind and she knows it.
