Zero tolerance policies never cease to amaze us. Here’s the latest from Milford, Massachusetts, according to the local ABC affiliate: “Nickolas Taylor, a fifth-grader, was suspended after pointing an imaginary ray gun – his finger – and mouthing laser sounds in the school’s cafeteria last Friday, said Brian Taylor, Nickolas’ father. … A conduct slip, written by Assistant Principal Noah Collins, lists the offense as a threat.” Clearly, this fifth-grader was doing something completely innocuous. It’s called “being a boy,” and Collins should look into it. School administrators continue to suffer from a complete disconnect from reality. More…
