The Patriot Post® · Ridiculous Lake-Effect Snow Linked to What?

A powerful early season blast of Arctic air swept across the country this past week, leaving most of the United States with well below normal temperatures. According to WeatherBell Analytics data, thermometer readings across the contiguous U.S. from Nov. 13-19 averaged a remarkable -7.828 degrees Celsius below the 30-year norm. The only notable exception was Alaska, where “warm” temperatures in late fall would leave most southerners still clinging to heavy jackets. On the snowy side, Western New York bared the brunt of the hit. The National Weather Service reports that an incredible 88" (7.3’) of snow fell just this week in the city of Cowlesville after several nearly stationary lake-effect snow bands pummeled the area. Anthropogenic global warming mouth-breather Bill Nye claimed that “it’s very reasonable [this is the result of] climate change.” It may be the result of climate change, but not the kind alarmists are promulgating. Nye added, “Everybody, when Lake Erie’s warmer, more water evaporates into the air and it snows more. I don’t make the rules, people.” This so-called scientist should do some homework before making such an embarrassment of himself, as lake temperatures are anything but warm. Meteorologist Ryan Maue points out, “Lake Erie is 4 degrees below normal,” for which you can thank last winter’s brutal cold. This week’s memorable snowstorm was caused by a record-cold airmass flowing over the relatively warmer lake temperatures below it. Hey, we didn’t make the rules. Just telling it as it is.
