If you are confused about the structure of government now that Barack Obama passed his executive order letting four million illegal immigrants stay in the U.S. instead of getting deported, it’s probably because Schoolhouse Rock hasn’t updated their song about how a bill becomes a law. The folks over at Saturday Night Live opened their show Nov. 22 by updating the jingle. The bill is trying to become a law, the executive order thinks he’s for designating national parks and declaring holidays, but Obama shows up and it’s “Live from New York it’s Saturday night!” The unfunny people over at The Washington Post say that the joke is inaccurate because Obama didn’t sign an executive order but he took executive action. The Post also alleges Obama’s “executive action” may or may not be unconstitutional because only the Republicans are saying it’s so. But what everyone is saying – from Republicans to SNL to some supporters of amnesty – is Obama crossed a line. More…
