When his days in the White House conclude, Barack Obama may not want to go into the fortune-telling business. Over at Investor’s Business Daily, John Merline writes, “Back in the good old days when President Obama didn’t have so many dings on his record, he promised that by 2015 there’d be more than 1 million electric cars on the road. Well, with just days to go, he’s only about 826,000 or so cars short of that goal.” Granted, Obama abandoned the goal about a year ago when it became all too evident he wouldn’t make it. Nissan’s Leaf and the heavily taxpayer-subsidized Chevy Volt never really took off, and each fell hundreds of thousands of units short of expectations.
