The year isn’t over yet, so don’t underestimate any politician’s bid for a come-from-behind win, but the crew of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” determined the winner of this year’s “lie of the year” award: Barack Obama. Glenn Kessler, The Washington Post’s “fact checker,” declared the specific lie was Obama’s claiming (in Kessler’s words), “I didn’t call the Islamic State a ‘JV’ team.” Kessler said, “I look at the issues that resonate with people and are big issues. So one of the major things was Barack Obama saying that he was not specifically referring to ISIS when he referred to a JV team.” Now, of course, Obama talks tough about the need to destroy ISIL, but his whopper still lives on.
