The Patriot Post® · Will Pro-Gay Bakers Make Any Cake?
Part of the homosexual agenda has been to attack Christian bakers, florists and photographers who don’t wish to endorse same-sex marriage by providing services in celebration of it. So perhaps it was only a matter of time before someone put the shoe on the other foot. A blogger by the name of Theodore Shoebat conducted an experiment: He called “some 13 prominent pro-gay bakers in a row. Each one denied us the right to have ‘Gay Marriage Is Wrong’ on a cake and even used deviant insults and obscenities against us. One baker even said all sorts of profanities against Christians and ended the conversation by saying that she will make me a cookie with a large phallus on it.” To be sure, it was an imperfect experiment. Scott Shackford at Reason, a libertarian site that is pro same-sex marriage, writes, “Shoebat is kind of his own worst enemy in trying to perform this experiment. He can’t keep from referring to the homosexual agenda ‘in California’ and trying to argue with the folks in the other end of the call rather than simply asking if they’d sell him the cakes he wants.” Clearly, Shoebat should have made his request as neutral as possible, but it still serves to illustrate the hypocrisy of the Left, which wants one set of standards for themselves and another for everyone else. And, Shackford concludes, “Nobody should, by order of the government, have to make Shoebat’s stupid cakes. And nobody should be forced to make gay wedding cakes either.”
