Some of the information leaked when Sony was hacked included disparaging email comments about Barack Obama’s movie preferences, which some considered racist. Naturally, that brought Al Sharpton to the rescue. He met with Sony executive Amy Pascal, who, the New York Post reports, “agreed to let Sharpton have a say in how Sony makes motion pictures, in an effort to combat what he called ‘inflexible and immovable racial exclusion in Hollywood.’” Unreal. So now not only does North Korea have veto power over what movies are released, but Sharpton does too? “We have agreed to having a working group deal with the racial bias and lack of diversity in Hollywood,” said Sharpton, who added somewhat menacingly, “The jury is still out on where we go with Amy.” Which might mean she can keep her job in exchange for a nice donation to the political group of Sharpton’s choice. He concluded, “We clearly are willing to deal with an immediate formula to see where we deal with breaking down the walls of inflexible and so far immovable racial exclusion in Hollywood.” After all, Sharpton needs to justify his continued fame.
