Mitt Romney is in for the presidential election in 2016. The Washington Post reports, “Romney is moving quickly to reassemble his national political network, calling former aides, donors and other supporters over the weekend and on Monday in a concerted push to signal his seriousness about possibly launching a 2016 presidential campaign.” He has been coy over the last few months about his intentions, floating trial balloons and then denying that he would run, but his latest steps signify he almost surely will. Clearly, Romney had to get in now or not at all after the recent rumblings from Jeb Bush and Mike Huckabee. Romney is a thoroughly qualified, competent and decent man who ran a lackluster campaign and struggled to win hearts in 2012. Barack Obama was eminently beatable, and Romney failed to do it. Will a third run be a charm? Time will tell, but we think not.
