The Patriot Post® · The President Would Rather Not Fight Terrorism
When Barack Obama watched football as world leaders marched in Paris to show solidarity with the victims of the jihadi attack on Charlie Hebdo, it illustrated just how uncomfortable the president is with confronting terrorism. “Look, everyone agrees that this was a mistake,” National Review’s Jonah Goldberg said on Fox News. “The question is why this is a mistake. Part of it is incompetence. Never rule out incompetence as an explanation for anything in Washington. But part of it also is that it fits into a pattern that this president and this White House has an ideological rule that has gone forth that says we’re never going to overreact to terrorism.” His opinion was echoed by CNN Senior Political Correspondent Brianna Keilar when she said terrorism “isn’t the issue that he wants to be fully front and center.” This is why Obama was so eager to slink out of Iraq and Afghanistan. We have a commander in chief who is unwilling to do what is needed in the moment because it doesn’t fit his agenda.
