The Patriot Post® · Obama's Olive Branch to N. Korea Is Iran 2.0

The White House’s ever-revolving dialogue with Iran, which Team Obama believes is having a positive effect even as the Islamic regime marches closer toward attaining a nuclear warhead, has apparently emboldened the administration to introduce the same approach with North Korea. “The countries’ nuclear envoys have been discussing the idea of ‘talks about talks,’ according to multiple people with knowledge of the conversations,” The Washington Post reported. “But they have not been able to agree on the logistics – in no small part because of North Korea’s continuing Ebola quarantine.” Even Dictator Kim Jong Un had the sense to impose a quarantine during the height of the Ebola scare over the fall, only he took it a step further by closing the borders. Such a policy was lost on Obama – a decision that makes about as much sense as his new olive branch to Communist Korea. According to one anonymous U.S. official, “We want to test if they have an interest in resuming negotiations.” The stipulations to any agreement, the Post wrote, “would include suspending work at North Korea’s nuclear facilities and pledging not to conduct any further nuclear tests.” The danger here is that Korea would follow Iran’s lead with empty promises and continued undercover proliferation of uranium enrichment. Of all its follies, this administration’s worst trait is trust. And there’s absolutely nothing to suggest Obama won’t fall for the same manipulation from Korea that Iran is using to manufacture nuclear weapons.
