After going after coal companies, the Environmental Protection Agency has decided to hit every self-sufficient American. The EPA created a 344-page rule tightening the emission standards of the humble wood stove. Why? For the same reasons it’s enacted new smog standards and regulations on coal plants: It will make America’s already-clean air cleaner. The Daily Caller reports, “Some 2.4 million American households rely on wood stoves for heat. When the agency proposed the rule last year, critics argued 80 percent of wood stoves in use would not meet tightened standards and consumers would never be able to buy them brand new – raising energy costs for millions of people during the coldest times of the year.” Republicans say they oppose this bill, and they should. Regulating nature in such a futile way deserves all the opposition we can muster. More…
